The Christian Life is
The Greatest Adventure Ever!
The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
Matthew 13:45-46
The Wild Kingdom of God!
Being saved is only the beginning of our journey in the Wild Kingdom of God! Glorifying God, in whose image were were created, by being faithful, mature disciples of Christ is our purpose while here on Earth. It is a narrow road we journey, and few will come with us, but it is truly the greatest, most fulfilling adventure of all time!
Christianity is THE Wild Frontier! The Wild Frontier is not land in physical form. It is spiritual territory. We are aliens and strangers in a foreign land. It is a vast territory and a BIG mission! Some has been discovered and mined, yet much more exists to be discovered! There are many of God’s people who accepted Christ but have lost their way, or are wounded, complacent, and in need of vision and purpose. There are many more who have not yet been found and are in desperate need to discover God, through Jesus Christ.
We are The Hospital and the First Responders
The Church of Jesus Christ is to be fearless. We are supposed to be dangerous to darkness and evil. We are the pioneers, the ambassadors of Christ, sent into this wild frontier in love, grace, mercy and power to redeem territory for Christ that has been relinquished, or taken by the enemy. We love and serve others and when necessary do battle with evil in the power and authority of Christ to protect, redeem, restore, and bring others to salvation in Christ. We are Salt & Light in a distasteful and darkened world. This is the Great Adventure!
So, What is the Problem?
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls (1 Peter 2:11).
When we are born again into Christ we are transferred into a “new Kingdom” with a “new citizenship”. We have a new birth certificate and a new passport for heaven! Continuing to try to live in the old country with an expired passport is one reason why we suffer unfulfilled lives. We only have a temporary visa for this world! Our language is new. Our culture is new. Our mission is new. We are now aliens and strangers living in a foreign country. The challenge in America is to resist the constant indoctrination and the constant temptation to ‘go back’ to the old life, the dead life. What gets in our way? What has priority over our ‘real life’? This is often a consequence of doing things our way rather than God’s way—having a form of godliness. The power of Christ and the joyful expression of faith in Christ is in direct proportion of being fully submitted to Christ. Worldly thinking must be dismantled in order to live the Christian life victoriously.
People having a form of godliness but denying its power….always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3: 5,7 – Read full text at 2 Timothy 3:1-9
In my early years as a Christian I had learned a great deal about Christianity but living as a disciple of Christ and for the Kingdom was radically altered when I was in a dark and desperate place and began a serious search for the meaning of my life. In seeking God with all of my heart God revealed his love for me that came in like a flood and I was delivered from oppression. I WAS FREE! God then took me on an adventure of discovery of genuine Christianity. When we are humbly and intentionally seeking God, with willingness to be changed, God will answer.
But there is risk in this! We must let our walls down and risk having our our egos, idols and worldly thinking crucified with Christ.
“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.” Proverbs 25:2
Many have yet to realize their powerful and unique purpose and meaning in this Great Adventure. Whether it’s deception from Satan or self-deception, it works marvelously well, particularly in a wealthy country like the United States. We are indoctrinated early and often into worldly principles that even well-meaning Christians do not see, rather than the Wild Kingdom of God and his principles. The consequences lead to being dispirited, wandering, frustrated, and without hope and joy—trying to be double agents, but instead being double-minded.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
So, Where is the Victory?
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1 John 1:4
The victory is in living the way God directed us in the Bible. When we faithfully obey God’s ways with perseverance and humility we discover why our ways and the ways of the culture are empty and bear the fruit of disillusionment. The biggest step of faith in a Christian’s life is not asking Jesus into his or her life. The biggest step is when one decides to be a disciple and live the Christian life. Salvation insurance does not bring a victorious life here.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We live from our present victory in Christ, not toward a future victory. Our identity and standing with God is present and secure. We are called to be a powerful testimony of God’s kingdom.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
In true form, the body of Christ should look and sound like a symphony in which we are playing the Gospel for the world. Each of us has discovered our unique part in the symphony and we’re practicing it over and over, so we come together “in tune”. With Jesus as our conductor, we play a concert in which the world is able to experience the love of God. The vision of this ministry is about developing an environment of discipleship that breaks limited and small paradigms of Christianity and life in the Kingdom in order to experience Christianity HD (high-definition). The point is to exhort us to move beyond the temporary trappings of this world which are fading away, and live in the truth of our real life in Christ. This is far and away more exciting and more meaningful than the worldly life!
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Ephesians 2: 19-22
