The army of God is the body of Christ on Earth. We are here for very specific reasons: to glorify God, make disciples of Christ, heal the sick, save the lost. But we have resistance and the resistance is the devil, the world, and our own flesh. We don’t have control over the world or the devil. We do have control over our flesh, our old nature before we were saved. We have the Holy Spirit and we have many weapons. We must, however, use them skillfully.
Be Wise by God’s Standard
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:15-17 NASB

- The days are evil (We see this more then ever)
- Walk wisely (The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom)
- Make the most of your time (avoid slothfulness, apathy, passivity – be productive and useful for Christ and your fellow man)
- Don’t be foolish (following your own understanding)
- Understand the the will of the Lord (read the Bible regularly and follow it)
It’s a War Out There
If you’re a Christian and you’re alive in these days (assuming you are if you’re reading this), you have a role and a mission. The body of Christ is not a bunch of lone wolves. Some take pride in being a lone wolf. God isn’t happy about it and He doesn’t bless it. Believe me. The body is supposed to be an army of well-trained soldiers who understand their roles, being faithful to God and one another, performing their duties with their spiritual gifts. This is when the power of God through the body of Christ is manifested. You want to dangerous to the enemies of God? Be who God created you to be, stay in your lane, be faithful, read the Word regularly, and be connected to the body.
The Enemy has an Army
Hopefully by now you can see our worldly enemies have an army and they are tactical and trained. Manufacture a crisis and don’t waste it. Then offer a solution that is worse than the crisis. Their master the devil has been doing this for thousands of years. He is far more crafty than you or me. Don’t think you can do things your way and be victorious (we’ve progressed ). There’s nothing new under the sun. You can’t remain passive and unengaged as a home-based spectator waiting for Trump or Q or the military to save your nation. More importantly, you will answer to God about how you lived your role and used the gifts and talents he gave you to serve Christ, the body of Christ, and others.
If you are born again, saved by the blood of Jesus, you have eternal security and joy. Yay! But until God brings you home you have work to do here!
